Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 (virat kohli birthday date) in a Punjabi family in Delhi. His father Prem Kohli, a lawyer by profession. And Mata Saroj Kohli is a housewife. Virat Kohli is the youngest in his family, he has an elder brother and an elder sister. Virat's mother says that at the age of 3, Virat started catching bats and forced his father to play with him. Virat Kohli did his schooling from 'Vishal Indian Public School'. As much as his family members are behind Virat's success, in the same way, the neighbors also contribute a little. Seeing an interest in cricket, Virat Kohli's neighbors advised Virat's father not to waste his time in street cricket. And not too long, Virat's father got Virat to join the 'Delhi Cricket Academy' at the age of just 9. Virat Kohli was trained by Rajumar Sharma. Virat's teacher says that Virat was promising in sports as well as in studies.
Virat Kohli Sports Career:
Virat's playing career began in the year 2002. When he first got a place in Delhi's under-15s. After that, by the end of 2004, he was also made a entry in Delhi's U-17. And after joining that team, he played for the Vijay Merchant Trophy. And he had scored over 400 runs in all four series. Along with this success, he got a deep shock when Virat's father died on 18 December 2006 due to brain stroke. This had a profound impact in Virat's life. He still attributes his success to his father. In his interview, Kohli says that that time was very difficult for me and my family. Even today, I get emotional after remembering that time. My father was my biggest support and he helped me a lot. For most of my childhood, I used to play cricket with him. Even today I miss them.
In July 2006, Virat was selected for the Indian under-19 team. His first tour was in England and he scored 105 runs in his three ODIs. And in 2008, he was selected as the captain of the Indian under-19 team. And after that he did his best in the match to be held in Malaysia. In 2009, he was selected for the Sri Lankan tour of the Indian cricket team. In this tour, he got a chance to play for Team A of Team India.
During a match Virat was called up for batting when Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were injured and in this match, Virat scored his first ODI half-century. and India won that series. After that Virat went ahead with his hard work and today he has reached the point that he has become a source of inspiration for those who wants to become a cricketer. After the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli has been made the captain of all three formats of Indian cricket.
