Republic Day (26 January): a national festival

Every year Republic Day India is celebrated on 26 January. And Republic Day is celebrated as a national festival in India. This festival is above any religion, that is why this festival is not related to any particular caste, religion, community, but this festival belongs to humanity.

History of republic day -

We have to be independent, this thinking first emerged in the minds of the people in 1930 and they had decided that we have to liberate our country from British rule. At the meeting of the Lahore session of the Indian National Congress in the midnight of 31 December 1929, the first demand arose that we should no longer be enslaved by the British, this meeting was presided over by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And all the revolutionaries together decided that on 26 January 1930 they took an oath to celebrate Independence Day and they were successful in this initiative.

After that, the first meeting of the Indian Constitution Assembly was held on 9 December 1946, in which Indian leaders and the English cabinet participated and discussed the formation of the Indian Constitution. And there was a lot of debate as well. But in the end, listening to everyone's views, it was decided to go for a balanced constitution. And after many amendments, the Indian Constitution was formed under the Cabinet Mission Plan in 1946. In which Dr. Rajendra Prasad was made its chairman and Dr. BR Ambedkar as the director of the drafting committee. Constituent Assembly met for 2 years, 11 months and 18 days, after which it was finalized.

The Constitution of India was adopted on 26 November 1949. And on 24 January 1950, 284 people of the Constituent Assembly signed the Constitution of India which had 15 women members. And it was implemented on 26 January 1950. Prem Bihari Narayan Raizada has done the work of writing the original copy of the constitution in Hindi and English and Nandlal Bose has done the work of decorating every page of the Constitution with pictures.

On this day, flag hoisting is done especially on government institutions and educational institutions. After the flag hoisting, the national anthem is sung with great enthusiasm and cultural programs and competitions are also held. In which painting, debate, essay writing and patriotic songs are organized.

The Republic Day parade to be held in Delhi on this day becomes the main attraction of the people. A large number of people come to watch the parade from Vijay Chowk in Delhi to the Red Fort.

In this parade, the chief of the three army salutes the President. And at the same time, the three forces draw attention to the people with their acrobatics. The echoes of this parade are so terrible as if the whole of India was filled with enthusiasm together. In the program organized on the same day, prizes are distributed to the best performers. And then everyone's mouth is sweetened by the sweets distribution. Children especially wait for this day.
