Real Story Behind Valentine's Day
Valentines Day is the day of love and the day for love. In today's time, we all celebrate Valentine's Day with our family, our partners, and with our friends, but very few of us know how Valentine's Day got started And what is the real story behind celebrating this day. Very few people know why Valentine's Day is celebrated and what is the real reason for celebrating Valentine's Day on 14th of February. So in today's post, I will tell you the real story behind it and also the reason why Valentine's Day is celebrated.

This story is from 3rd century. At that time, the ruler of Rome was Claudius-2. During the 3rd century, Claudius involved in many battles, which led to a shortage of troops. The men of Rome did not want to be enlisted in the army because of Claudius's bad conduct and the constant battles. Claudius felt that the men of Rome did not want to join the army because of their family and love. Due to this, Claudius banned all new marriages and engagements in Roam. Nobody dared to stand against Claudius's cruelty.
At that time Valentine was a Priest, and it is believed that Valentine had such divine power that he could cure people's diseases. Valentine also did not like the decision of Claudius. Saint Valentine believed a lot in love and friendship. Going against Claudius's order, Saint Valentine secretly started marrying new Couples inside the church, but one day he was caught. Claudius took valentine as a prisoner and sentenced him to death.
During Valentine's imprisonment, the people of Rome and his loved ones used to send letters to him in jail and also used to come to meet him. The jailer of the prison in which Valentine was kept, had a daughter who could not see, that jailer requested Valentine to treat his daughter. Saint valentine agrees to help him. After that, the girl started coming to valentine every day to get her treatment and Valentine used to teach her as well. During this, both of them became good friends. They talked for hours every day and started liking each other.
On the darkest day of his sentence i.e. on his death day Saint Valentine wrote a letter for the friendship and Loyalty of the girl, in which he made his sign and wrote on it, "love from your Valentine".
He wrote this letter on 14th of February, after which people started giving letters and gifts to their Lovers on every 14th of February. Then every year this day started celebrating as Valentine's Day in Rome. And now this day is celebrated in most of the countries.
This day is a sign that no matter how much one does something against love, but no one can separate those who are truly in love. People who believe in their love always find a way to fulfill it. But in today's generation have made valentine's day just a trend. In today's time, the value of love has been limited to only expensive gifts, money and physical pleasure.
